After you've thoroughly enjoyed the unboxing experience, it is really important that you fully charge your mikme. A mikme hardware reset is also always recommended, especially if something's not working quite as it should.

Here are some quick fixes for the most common issues:

1 - If charging fails

What's wrong?

The mikme is connected via USB cable to a charger or computer, but the power LED light is not blinking.

Solution

A - Make sure you're using the correct charging device

For mikme gold or silver

The charging device needs to deliver a minimum charge current of 500 mA (please see the markings on your charging device or check its manual).

When connected, the microphone's power LED (see above) should turn orange and start blinking within 30 minutes (if the battery was completely empty).

In this case, you can relax for approx. 5 hours to give the mikme its necessary first charge.

For mikme pocket

The charging device needs to deliver a minimum charge current of 500 mA (please see the markings on your charging device or check its manual).

When connected, the microphone's power LED (see above) should turn orange and start blinking within 30 minutes (if the battery was completely empty).

In this case, you can relax for approx. 5 hours to give the mikme its necessary first charge.

B – Perform a hardware reset

If the power LED does not start blinking after 30 minutes at the latest, the battery is probably deeply discharged and the mikme is still asleep. You can kickstart it by performing a hardware reset. A hardware reset could come in handy whenever your mikme is behaving strangely — nothing to worry about though.

  • Just press and hold the power and Bluetooth buttons simultaneously for a minimum of 15 seconds and the mikme should turn on. Then read this article HowTo Reset the mikme microphone for further information.
  • The power LED should start blinking within a few minutes.

2 - If your mikme does not power up

What's wrong?

You press the power button for approx. one second, but the power LED and mikme logo LED (on the front of the mikme pocket, and on the top of the mikme connect) do not light up. This means your mikme is either completely discharged or it is stuck.

Solution

A - Try a hardware reset

Follow the steps outlined in this detailed article. If the mikme turns on after the hardware reset, the power LED and the mikme logo LED should light up.

B - Charge the battery

If after the hardware reset the LEDs do not light up, the mikme is probably out of battery as well and needs to be charged. Connect the mikme to a computer or charger – see our quick start guides for further instructions:

Please note that it can take a few minutes for the mikme to start charging. After a full charging cycle (approx. 5 hours) the mikme should power up by pressing the power button for a second.

3 - Bluetooth connection fails

Establishing a Bluetooth connection can be tricky under some circumstances.

Watch this video tutorial on how to connect your mikme via Bluetooth.

If the Bluetooth connection fails it could be a communication problem between the phone and your mikme. Make sure all Bluetooth functions are enabled.

3.1 - Pairing between the mikme and the phone fails during first connection attempt:

What's wrong?

Your mikme is in Bluetooth pairing mode and the Bluetooth LED is blinking 2x per second, but your mikme does not appear as a new device on the phone's Bluetooth device list.

Solution

Step 1 - Reset the Bluetooth settings on your phone

  • Switch Bluetooth OFF on your phone to reset the phone's Bluetooth connection.
  • Wait a few seconds. Turn Bluetooth ON again.
  • It could also be helpful to completely restart your phone.

Step 2 - Reset the user settings of the mikme

To delete information from former Bluetooth connections you should reset your mikme's user settings.

  • With your mikme turned on, press the + and - buttons on your mikme simultaneously for approx. 5 seconds, until the top button LED flashes 5 times.
  • Now mikme has forgotten all settings (including the gains) and can be freshly paired via Bluetooth with your phone.

C - Pairing of the mikme and the phone

  • Press the Bluetooth on your mikme for 2 seconds to go into pairing mode.
  • Open the mikme app and open settings.
  • Tap "Pair new mikme".
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to connect the mikme to your phone.

3.2 - Re-connection between the mikme and the phone fails:

What's wrong?

A) You've previously established a connection between your mikme and your phone, but it is not reconnecting now.

B) Your phone's Bluetooth is on and the Bluetooth LED on your mikme is blinking slowly (1x per second).

Solution

Step 1 - Reset the Bluetooth settings on your phone

  • Go to the Bluetooth settings of your phone.
  • Hit the "i" button of the mikme in the list of connected Bluetooth devices.
  • Tap "Forget This Device". Now the link between your phone and your mikme has erased and a new one can be established.
  • Turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone.
  • Wait a few seconds.
  • Turn Bluetooth ON on your phone to reset the phone's Bluetooth connection.
  • It could also be helpful to completely restart your phone.

Step 2 - Reset the user settings of the mikme

To delete information from former Bluetooth connections you should reset your mikme's user settings.

  • With your mikme turned on, press the the + and - buttons on your mikme simultaneously for approx. 5 seconds, until the top LED button flashes 5 times.
  • Now the mikme has forgotten all settings (including the gains) and can be freshly paired via Bluetooth with your phone.

Step 3 - Pairing the mikme and the phone

  • Press the Bluetooth button on our mikme for 2 seconds to go into pairing mode.
  • Open the mikme app and open settings.
  • Tap "Pair new mikme".

4 - Can't connect the mikme to the mikme app:

The mikme products only work with the latest version of the mikme app. Older versions of the app are no longer supported. Please visit the AppStore and get the latest version.

To connect your mikme with the mikme app, your iOS device must be equipped with a 64bit processor. This means iPhone 5 and upwards, and iPad Air and upwards. You'll find a complete compatibility guide here.
